Yodwicha vs Petboonchu top big names to battle Thursday at Ratchadamnoen

The biggest card of the year so far at Ratchadamnoen Stadium is set for May 8 with last year’s joint “Fighter of the Year” winner Yodwicha Por Boonsit set to take on this year’s runner up, Petboonchu FA Group, in the main event.

Both fighters are known for their walk-forward styles and are tall and like to use their knees, so this will probably turn out to be a clinch war between two fighters who have faced each other twice previously, registering one win apiece.
If clinching is not your thing – it tends to be a style of fighting which suits the Muay Thai traditionalists more than the newcomers  then there should be plenty of entertainment on offer in the rest of the card.
The first fight of the night sees Sam-D Petchyindeeacademy take on Wanchai Ramboisarn in clash of styles with the former a slick, technical southpaw and the latter an aggressive fighter who more than lives up to his adopted surname and is the reigning light-flyweight champion at Lumpinee Stadium.

The second fight of the night is also in the 108-pound division and has all the makings of a classic as two aggressive light-flyweights go head-to-head in the shape of Detkart Por Pongsawang and Satanmuanglek Janvitkosang. The most recent meeting between these two was an all-out war which ended in a brutal KO.

Singdam Kiatmoo9 and Nong-O Kaiyanghadaogym are two of the top fighters of the last decade. They have fought 11 times so far, but the matches are always competitive so promoters keep on booking them. These two familiar foes will meet for the 12th time on Thursday.
The stacked card contains no fewer than four former “Fighter of the Year” award winners and the man who took 2010 honours, Kongsak Sitboonmee, is also in action when he takes on the tall Petmorakot Wor Sangprapai.
There is no word yet on what level the ticket prices will be set at for this card, which is a joint offering from two of Thailand’s most prominent promoters, but expect the cost of ringside seats to be at least THB3,000.
