Two children’s museums will be go from debacles to delights this Children’s Day in January.
The museums, which have faced costly delays and renovations to make them usable, will open officially on Jan. 10 for Children’s Day, and admission will be free, according to spokeswoman Tridao Apaiwong of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.
After three years and THB70 million in renovations and a public campaign pushing officials to reopen the museum, the Children’s Discovery Museum will finally welcome visitors, once a number of issues with the facility are resolved, according to state media. Its renovation completed in August but further improvements were necessary, Tridao.
Another Children’s Discovery Museum, this one in Thung Khru, was actually completed seven years ago for the cost of THB300 million. It’s buildings were deemed unsafe, and it underwent another THB43 million renovation last year.
