‘Chim’ Bangkok’s top chefs at restaurant charity week

Some of Bangkok’s top chefs will step into the kitchen together for restaurant charity week next month.

Nahm’s David Thompson,  Pongtawat “Ian” Chalermkittichai of Cuisine Concept, Gaggan Anand  of Gaggan, Bo.Lan’s Bo and Dylan, Haikal Johari of Water Library Thonglor, and many more will participate in the six-night event at venues throughout the capital starting Dec. 6.

The highlight of “Chim Bangkok” will be its opening night at Siam Society. Chim in the Garden will feature a long-table, al fresco style dinner surrounded by nature and jazz music, where guests will be served gourmet-bite meals from more than 20 chefs.

Proceeds beyond expenses will go to the Royal Project Foundation.

Tickets range from THB2,500 to THB10,000. Here’s all the specifics from the announcement:

 

  • Dec. 6-16 – Chim Around Bangkok: Throughout the two-week event, diners will enjoy special set promotion at leading restaurants. Get the chance to taste signature dishes in an affordable price. For more information, please visit www.eatigo.com.

  • Dec. 6 – Chim in the Garden: Dinner in the garden in Gourmet Bite style, surrounded by the nature under big white marquee with a long table stretched across the decorated venue. Celebrity chefs will be there to make special menus that you might not get the chance to taste even at their own restaurants. Enjoy the music from live jazz band. Wine lovers can also add additional selection in special price. The dining experience is limited to only 250 diners for THB2,500 each. The cost includes food and drink throughout the activity (excluding wine, which is available upon selection).

  • Dec. 8 – Chim Workshop: Join Chefs Masterclass that will cover topics such as Cuisine Trend by 3 celebrity chef – David Thompson / Nahm, GagganAnand / Gaggan, and Ian Kittichai / Cuisine Concept workshop will take place at Le Cordon Bleu Dusit. The ticket costs THB5,000 and is limited to 50 guests only.

  • Dec. 9 – Chim Thai: An exquisite wine-dinner experience with Asia’s leading Thai chefs who will team up to create special dishes for you under one roof. Chef David Thompson / Nahm, Ian Kittichai / Issaya, Morten  Nielsen / Benjarong DUSIT, Bo & Dylan / Bo.Lan, NoororSomanee Steppe / Blue Elephant, Chumpol Jangprai / Siam Wisdom, Ton Thitid/ LeDu and Noom Nelson/ Osha will come together under one roof to create a modern and authentic eight-course menu, including wine selected by Mr.Viroj Leetrakul, Sommelier & Wine Expert. The activity will take place at Benjarong, Dusit Thani. The ticket costs THB5,000 and is limited to 60 guests only.

  • Dec. 10, 11 – Chim’s Young Chef: New generation of celebrity chefs will team up to make this dinner most memorable. Since they are also living the lifestyle of new generation, the chefs understand how to create the ultimate experience for modern diners. The seven-course menu with wine pairing will be created by Zra Jiraratana / Aston 31, Mirco Keller / WL Chamchuri, Nan Bunyasaranand / Little Beast, Daniel Bucher / Reflexion, Angela Brown / Park Society and Mai Apirawit / Whale’s Belly. The activity will take place at ASTON 31. The ticket costs THB5,000 and is limited to 60 guests only.

  • Dec. 16 – Chim Gastro Gala Dinner: The to-die-for modern wine dinner inspire by gourmet French cuisine. Eight chefs – Haikal Johari / Water Library, Arnaud Dunand Sauthier / Le Normandie, Aziamendi / Phuket, Ian Kittichai / Cuisine Concept, Michael Hogan / JW Marriott, Stephano Merlo / Enotca, Tim Butler / Eat Me and Paul Smart / Sofitel So Bangkok will come together to create eight signature courses in modern gastronomy style, to be pair with wine selected by Mr.Viroj Leetrakul. The activity will take place at JW Marriott Bangkok. The ticket costs THB10,000 and is limited to 80 guests only.

  • Dec. 17 – ProSom2014: The competition to find Thailand’s top sommelier will take place for the second time this year. Contestants will go through tough challenges, just like international arena in order to show their knowledge and skills. The application for this activity is free. The activity is co-organized by Association of Thailand Sommeliers (ATS).

  • Dec. 17 – Bangkok Top 20 Best Restaurant 2014: To complete the grand event, Bangkok’s top chefs and restaurants for 2014 will be named based on votes by 50 committee and fine dining gurus, consisted of 20 leading chefs, 15 food and drink suppliers, 15 media and sommeliers. The activity will take place at JW Marriott Bangkok.
