’12 values’ LINE stickers revealed

A first look at the LINE stickers inspired by Prayuth Chan-ocha’s words of wisdom was shown yesterday.

The “12 Core Value for Thais” promoting Prayuth’s 12 values are exemplified by a young girl who is the obedient, compliant and humble fantasy of conservative families everywhere – and her pet dog, too.

The stickers are yet another gift from the government to its lucky citizens and will be available as a free download from Dec. 30 to Jan. 28 – just in time to include in your “Happy New Year” messages, officials announced yesterday.

The values aren’t permanent, but the government presence on your phone will last much longer. The stickers will expire from your phone 90 days after being downloaded, but you will still receive messages from the junta for one full year.

Other than the 12 values, the set include other gestures such as “Sawasdee,” “Happy New Year,” and the character giving a compliant military salute, saying “Yes, sir!”

The government expects the stickers to receive roughly 3 million downloads. With VAT included, the cost of the deal with the Line service provider is 7.1 million baht.
