Hidden away in private collections, unseen works to ‘crossover’ to the public

Although some important works have been famously lost, others simply go unseen because they are locked away in private collections.

An exhibition by a group of collectors seeking to share some of their personal collections will reveal a chunk of Thai art history that has been otherwise unknown to the public for some time.

“Crossover” seeks to provide insight into the relationship between the art world and society, while recognizing the collectors. While the concept seems admirable, the announcement fails to specify what exactly will be included in the exhibition.

We’ll find out Feb. 20 when the exhibition begins. It will run through June 14 at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre. Entry is free.
