The next time you’re craving it, give your experience a little twist at Khlong San Center Pier Plaza, where a single shop serves bua loi khai khem, the popular sticky rice balls in coconut cream dessert, but with salted egg instead of sweet.

For 20 years the store has been whipping up these tiny, colorful rice balls using only natural ingredients like beetroot, butterfly pea, carrot and pumpkin. They’re served swimming in coconut cream that gives it a yummy salty aftertaste and if you like you can top it with corn, taro and water chestnut.
